This week, we
were introduced to a valuable geospatial analysis tool called ERDAS (Earth Resources Data Analysis System)
Imagine. We studied electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and its association to
remote sensing and geospatial analysis. Specifically, we learned that the
wavelength of EMR is directly proportional to its frequency (Planck radiation
law). Prior to this week's lesson, I did
not realize know how much physics and EMR contributed to remote sensing and the GIS field!
I enjoyed working with ERDAS this week. It was nice to obtain another tool to put in my GIS toolbox!
