For our final week, we learned how to create scripts for geometry objects. Specifically, we utilized a search cursor and "for" loop to iterate through rows/arrays regarding specific data points. We also learned how to create a new file and make it writeable, using Python scripts. Learning this script was helpful when completing the assignment, since we were required to send our output to the newly created file!
During the lab this week, I was having trouble getting the script to run properly until I remembered the importance of using the appropriate index number for the script. I attended an office hours session this week and figured out my mistake pretty fast! After I made those corrections and paid closer attention to my syntax, I did not make any additional errors and was able to create a successful script. I worked more efficiently using IDLE (rather than ArcGIS Notebooks) with this week’s assignment. I specifically used IDLE to check the modules without running the whole script, which was very helpful when locating my errors.
