GIS 5050 - Intro to GIS- Week 6 - Georeferencing, Editing, and 3D

This week, we worked on Georeferencing, Editing, and 3D mapping. I spent most of my time troubleshooting the Georeferencing portion of the project.  It took several attempts before I became more comfortable with georeferencing an image with no coordinates with another map.  Once I became more proficient with process, I tested several different theories on how to achieve the minimum level of RMS errors.

Regarding the Eagle's Nest Map, I was uncertain if I should leave the parcel document as a layer so that the instructors can see that I lined the document up appropriately with the map using Georeferencing techniques.  Obviously, it does not "belong" on this map - it appears out of place.  Also, in hindsight, I wonder if I should have done two separate maps.  I wanted to add an inset containing an image of the State of Florida and put a point showing where the eagle's nest is located in Florida.

Finally, I did attempt to complete the 3D Map of  the UWF campus, although the assignment was optional.
